DIY Twisted Crocheted Coffee Cozie with Personalize

Looking for a fun way to make that morning cup of coffee even MORE enjoyable?? These coffee cozies are SO simple to make in all of your favorite colors!

How to Make a Simple Coffee Cozie

Anyone else interested in adding a little more cozie to your morning cup of coffee or tea? I just love these coffee cozies! My favorite thing about them is that they can be customized to your liking. Pink anyone?? How about rainbow? If you can find the yarn, you can turn it into a Cozie. Let’s get started!

Supplies

Yarn

Any type of yarn you can find, you can use! My favorite places to shop for yarn are Walmart, Michaels, Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics. They usually have a great selection. You can almost always find something unique too if that’s what you are going for!

crochet hook

For this particular project I have used a crochet hook size H 5 mm, You can certainly experiment around with hooks and yarn thickness to come up with a pattern that you like best. I usually get my crocket hooks at the same stores that I get my yarn, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn Fabrics and Michaels. You can also purchase on amazon if you like the convenience of it being delivered to your front door!

Scissors

Any will do, but fabric scissors cut through yarn easily. 🙂

Steps for Making YOUR Coffee Cozie

Step One

Start by gathering your supplies.
For this Cozie I choose purple yarn
and a crochet hook H 5mm.

Step Two

Begin by chaining 26 stitches onto
your crochet hook. I actually
chained on 27 and worked across 26 stitches.

Step Three

Work across 26 stitches in a SC pattern.
Once you reach the end, chain 2.

Step Four

Turn and work across the 26 stitches
in a SC pattern working from the back.
Continue to alternate this pattern until your project
measures 4 inches in length.

Step Five

Once you have reached 4 inches in measurement you can begin the twist. I have attached a video by Sweet Potato 3. This video is a great tutorial of how to create the twisted look in your final project. The video example uses a headband, but this can easily be used on any project that you wish to have this look. I personally think it adds a little something to dress up a plain crochet project.

The TWIST

I added cute little tags to mine using ribbon and my Cricut machine. LOVE the way they came out! Be on the lookout for my “How to…. tags” coming soon! Happy Crocheting!
