Creamy Turmeric Smoothie with all the Health Benefits

I just LOVE experimenting in the kitchen! In the summertime, smoothies are my go-to morning ritual. Their refreshing taste and health benefits make them a great choice! 

Let’s talk TURMERIC for a moment. 

Turmeric is an ancient spice that has been used in India for centuries. It is known for its medicinal properties and is a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. It is also known to have anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-fungal, and anti-oxidant properties. Furthermore, it has been found to have anti-cancer benefits, aiding in reducing the risk of certain cancers. Additionally, turmeric can improve digestion, reduce cholesterol, and promote healthy skin.

Hence, turmeric was the star ingredient in my smoothie this morning!

  • 1/2 peeled orange

  • bananas- a great source of potassium which can be a key component in heart health
  • ginger- can treat nausea, help control blood sugar levels, and they are loaded with antioxidants that help your body fight off stress
  • turmeric- anti-inflammatory, can improve digestion, reduce cholesterol, and promote healthy skin.
  • pineapple-vitamin c, magnesium, contains disease fighting antioxidants
  • coconut milk-can be consumed by vegan, allergens and lactose intolerant people, high in iron and vitamin c, may be high in saturated fat and calories
  • oranges-vitamin c, provides gut and heart protective fiber

Smoothie Recipe

Recipe

  • 1 cup of pineapple
  • 1 cup of milk (of your choice)
  • 1 t of turmeric
  • 1 slice of ginger
  • 1/2 cup of crushed ice (easier to blend)
  • 1 banana
