“I LOVE You” Valentine Magnetic Canvas Parent Gifts

Looking for a cute, yet simple DIY craft for a loved one for Valentine’s Day? This “I LOVE You” magnet is the perfect gift! It’s super easy to make and a great keepsake for parents, grandparents, or other family members. All you need are a few supplies and about 5 minutes!

I LOVE You Magnets

First you need mini magnet canvas pieces, red paint (we used tempera), a fine tip black sharpie and a teeny hand to capture some tiny fingerprints!

First Complete the Outside Design

Since our pre-k kiddos are 4 and 5 I like to give them a visual for what the magnet should look like. I spell out the words “I LOVE You” on a dry erase board for them to copy. Some might need a little help since the magnetic canvas pieces are so tiny. Once the writing part is done, I took their little thumbs and stamped it into a heart shape. They came out super cute! You may need to touch up some of the hearts with a paintbrush as some of them may not exactly LOOK like hearts at first dab!
