Clay Houses
Ok, remember how I said I was a little obsessed with sculpting clay?! Here is another evening project made from sculpey clay. Now when I posted last week on my mini heart and star gift tags, I had used tiny cut outs. These houses I free handed and used a knife along the edges. Personally, I LOVE the way they turned out! My favorite is the one I added words to using my Cricut maker! Now, if you have never used a Cricut Maker I’m telling you they are LIFE CHANGING in the world of crafters! I used mine to cut out “Home is where the heart is” and attach…

Clay Heart Tags
I think I might have a new addiction. Sculpey clay! I discovered this amazing stuff while perusing through Hobby Lobby one day and my mind went wild with all the possibilities! You can purchase sculpting clay in almost any color you can dream of, but I prefer white. One, because of its classic look for the projects I had in mind, and two because I thought I could add my own color with paint! First project! Since Valentine’s Day is around the corner, I made tiny hearts and tied colored twine to them. Check them out! This week I made hearts and stars with my clay. You’ll have to check…

Canvas Snowflakes
Oh, what FUN January brings to the classroom! This week we made glitter snowflakes on canvas. It was a bit of prep beforehand, but well worth it! You need the following supplies to get started. There are many different options for all of the above really, so I just added links for MY favorites. Once you decide on the thickness of canvas you would like to use, and the width of painter’s tape you can begin by using the tape to make a snowflake design on your canvas. If you look carefully, you can tell that some of the painters’ tape, I used was much thicker in width giving the…

Mini Quotes
The links above contain affiliate links. If you are interested in trying these out for yourself, they are super fun to make! All you need are mini canvas’ (I prefer the flat one’s vs the inch think canvas, but you could use either), mini easel stands because personally I think this makes all the difference in how they are displayed, and of course vinyl paper of your choice. OH, don’t forget to lightly coat your vinyl with mod-podge so they viny won’t peel. My kiddos don’t know this yet, but I SO plan on placing these throughout their dorm rooms when they go to college and changing them out each…

Tassel Tree
Are you looking for a holiday project to do with friends, your family, or just to spend a craft evening by yourself? This was one of my favorite evening projects this year. I found this great blog on Wilshire Collections by Stacey Collins. She does a great job breaking down how to actually make the tassels for this holiday tree. Obviously, I tweaked mine a bit by adding it (using my glue gun) to the front of a picture frame. I began by adding colored cardstock in my picture frame and choosing a yarn color choice that complimented that color. I chose a wine/burgundy cardstock (listed below) and a simple…

Eggplant, Goat Cheese and Olive Pizza
I suddenly have this obsession with Mediterranean food! My kids are less than thrilled, but the taste is so flavorful, and the health benefits are off the charts! Since Pinterest, I haven’t found the need to actually purchase too many recipe books, BUT I ran across this GEM the other day and couldn’t resist. I’m glad I didn’t pass it up. It’s called “Healthy Mediterranean Recipes”. I’ll link the book below if you are interested in checking it out. What drew me to this book to begin with were all the vibrant pictures throughout. I’m the type of person who can be easily turned off by a bunch of words…

Festive Christmas Pumpkin
Anyone else struggle saying goodbye to their perfectly picked farm pumpkins?? I sure do! Fall is my favorite time of year. Each year we load up the family for a trip to a faraway farm just so we can take our hayride of the year and select the BEST farm picked pumpkins! Nothing makes me happier! Then Halloween passes, Thanksgiving passes, and I know it’s time to say goodbye. Sigh… WELL, this year I had an idea! I bought a little bit of glitter paint and sprayed away! Now we have a festive Christmas pumpkin that can last the whole season. Almost. Depending on where you live it MIGHT get…

“Cutesy” Home Signs
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the way these cute little signs turned out! Circuit and I did some crafting this week and this was the project of the week! I purchased some wood slices that you can purchase below by clicking on my links. There as so many to choose from, but I like to buy an assortment of wood. Some with holes in the top for hanging, and others without. I usually purchase mine to be about 3.5-4 inches wide that way I have enough room for adding designs. If you do try this out at home, be sure to carefully apply a thin coat of mod-podge over the top of…
