Pom Art for Kids, Quick, Fun and Easy

Pom art can be a bit addicting and OH so fun! Looking for something fun and easy to do with your kiddos on a lazy summer day? Grab some yarn, cardboard, your glue gun and let’s get started! This quick and easy art project will for sure be a hit!

Supplies Needed

Let’s get started!

The first thing I did for this art activity was gather my supplies. What started this entire project was a walk though Hobby Lobby where I came across this blank cardboard rainbow template in the sale section. Honestly, it was 98 cents! I grabbed it not having any idea what I was going to do with it. I just have a habit of purchasing things that are good deals. I know the ideas will come eventually!

Cool right? Now…what to do, what to do? Earlier this spring I had purchased a pom-pom making set and became obsessed with making pom poms! Suddenly, the “idea” hit me! I was going to use those pom poms to turn my rainbow pretty. 🙂

Steps for Making my Pom Pom Art

Step 1

Gather your supplies

Step 2

Choose your yarn color for your poms and begin making poms. LOTS of them! I choose three different colors that will go perfectly with my classroom theme for this upcoming year!

Step 3

Once I had my poms made I layed them out onto my rainbow to get an idea of how I wanted them placed before actually gluing them down.

Final Step

I plugged in my glue gun and began gluing my poms down one by one!

This is such a fun and easy craft to do with kids. I created mine by myself, but having some kiddos help out with the pom making would have moved things along much quicker!
